Oh how I wish this game would have been made back when I was in college, well I just wish this game would be made period. Designed by Brazilian product design student Mauricio Harion, the Enigma is a great take on the classic Battleship game. I'm sure by the second or third game, you would be in for a great night. This is the Enigma, the classic Battleship game turned into a simple to play (and fun) bar game. It´s played just like the usual Battleship game with one addition. If you miss the target you drink a sip of water, and if you hit an enemy boat you opponent empties the corresponding shot glass. The exterior design of the wood case was based on the enigma encrypting machine as well as the game´s name. The game also features a radar screen to mark the shots of each player and a list of the ships remaining.

The chrysanthemum centerpiece by South African designer Michaella Janse van Vuuren. The centerpiece is a reversible design that can function as either a bowl or a candle holder, depending on which side of the design faces upwards.
The centrepiece reflects Michaella's passion for the textures, shapes and patterns found in nature. Michaella especially likes to interpret those objects that have a repetitive mathematically founded pattern. Some objects are immediately recognizable, such as the Chrysanthemum, others are more abstract.

Absolutely wonderful ceramic bird houses from Denver based artist Michael McDowell. Each one of these pieces is available from his etsy shop for $45.
Each gorgeous bird house is hand crafted and covered inside and out with Michael's non toxic glossy white glaze and topped with an exquisite white lichen glaze. It is fired twice, once as a bisque firing to drive out moisture from the clay and a second high fire glaze firing which ensures the birdhouse can withstand the elements. Just in time for your feathered friends this spring and summer, they make a great housewarming gift or a treat for yourself. A ceramic bead and hemp hanger are included for quick hanging.

Fantastic wall decals from Germany based designer Julia Wolf. Created for the Brazilian company Diz Decor, the idea behind these wall decals was to not to try and hide the cables and plugs that around our house, but to emphasize the chaos in a fun not so often seen way.

"Grass" designed at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Israel, in 2009. Designed to bring more nature indoors.
The squares of grass were originally inspired by Frank Loyd Wright’s Fallingwater and how Wright continually strove to connect architecture and nature. All of the packaging for the squares is made completely from recycled materials. Openings on the corners of the package let the grass breathe and help give it a longer shelf life.

Art. Lebedev Studios are back at the product design game again. I love the "Gridus barbecue grid," it's just awesome. But I have one question is a hot dog grilled on A1 through A23, really that much better than one grilled D1 through D23, I think it is and if you ever try to steal my A1 through A23 hot dog there will be a fight.

Very interesting jewelry design from the Thailand based studio, The Apple Tree. This piece comes from the underground garden silver collection. The apple tree jewelery was founded in 2005 in Bangkok, Thailand, born out of the frustration of being unable to find jewelery that is different from everything else on the market. Beautifully designed double use bracelet designed by Philly designer Megan Auman. Use it as a bracelet that doubles as a coffee cozy or as a coffee cozy that doubles as a bracelet, it is fun and looks good either way.
Megan's work explores the ubiquity of decoration. She is interested in how the same floral forms appear in both textile patterns and decorative ironwork. In her work she takes botanical imagery and distills them into their simplest forms – producing work that is graphic and modern.

With Polaroid instant film going away, designs have been popping up everywhere to keep the beloved format alive in one way or another. The Polaroid mirror by Colin O'Dowd is another one of those products the 2mm mirrored glass with white vinyl border is a fun product, that brings back a little bit of the feel of the old school Polaroid cameras. Although it would be so much better if there was some way to treat the mirror so it gave you the sort of washed out colors that Polaroid instant film is so known for.

Oh, Snap! is a really nice 9” x 5” beechwood cheeseboard that comes with a handy stainless-steel cheese slicer, and it’s all disguised as a giant mousetrap. This one makes us squeak with glee. Do you still need a calendar for 2009, do you also need some pencils to sketch with. Well then have I found the perfect solution for you, the guys from Mytton Williams design have put together the pencil calendar, 12 pencils, 365 days, infinite creative possibilities.
The pencil calendar consists of 12 color-coded pencils to indicate the seasonal temperature and the days of the year printed along the whole length of the pencil, allowing each day to be sharpened off. The minimal packaging is a traditional pencil box with a slide-out lid, so no further packaging is required for mailing. It is avaliable from the Mytton Williams site for £12.00, about $18 US.
I really like this trash bag dispenser that New Jersey industrial designer Joe Dougherty has put together. The only thing I would worry about with this set up would be, what if you ripped a bag in your trash can. Then the trash bag would leak all over your unused trash bags. I know, I know they are trash bags who cares if they get a little dirty, but I for one do not want to have to reach in and pull out a trash bag that is covered in who knows what.
